MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police have identified the body of a homeless man recovered from the Merrimack River in Manchester.

Divers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department pulled the body of 34-year-old Torin Brown on Tuesday.

The search was conducted by New Hampshire Fish and Game, Manchester Fire Department, New Hampshire Marine Patrol and the Manchester Police Department.

The North Carolina resident’s body was located about 600 feet south of the Queen City Bridge in 15 feet of water.

Witnesses say Brown was trying to swim to his campsite on the west side of the river when he was overtaken by the current.

Foul play is not suspected. The incident is being investigated by New Hampshire Marine Patrol.
