FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A Fayetteville man is in the hospital after an argument with his stepfather over lawn maintenance led to a shooting.

A police spokesman tells local media outlets that 20-year-old Winston Adams was shot in the back Tuesday afternoon. Adams was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.

Authorities say 62-year-old Wilbert Lawrence Faison has been jailed and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
