HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island man has been arrested after he tossed burning paper towels into the home of a man he just had an argument with.

Newsday reports (https://nwsdy.li/1cvDwRF ) 26-year-old Jacksin Rouzard is charged with arson, burglary and related offenses.

Police say the Hempstead man tried to burn the home of a 46-year-old man after Rouzard pulled a knife and threatened the victim’s life Monday night.

Authorities say he then tossed a burning roll of paper towels on a bed through an open window of the victim’s home. A woman extinguished the fire. Three young children were in the home at the time.

The Legal Aid Society is representing Rouzard and doesn’t comment on cases.

He’s being held in lieu of bail and is due in court Thursday.
