ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - Police have arrested a 46-year-old central Florida man on drug charges while they continue to search for his missing 7-month-old child and her 21-year-old mother.

David Hogarth was arrested early Wednesday on multiple charges and remains in the Seminole County Jail.

Altamonte Springs police say Penelope Hogarth and her mother, Elizabeth Jessica McCreery, are missing.

The Orlando Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1cwU382 ) reports police went to the couple’s home Tuesday after child welfare workers got an anonymous tip that the child wasn’t being cared for.

Hogarth was taken into custody after becoming belligerent with police. Authorities say he refused to say where the woman and child were.

Officer Rob Pelton says police believe the woman and child are in danger.

Police found about a dozen 8-foot marijuana plants in the house.
