RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Police say a Raleigh woman has been arrested for pretending to be a law enforcement officer and punching an officer while being arrested.

WRAL-TV (https://bit.ly/1E4SWlO ) reports 60-year-old Jo-Ann McMiller was charged Tuesday for her actions Feb. 6, pretending to be “special police” in front of two officers. The arrest warrant says when asked for identifying credentials, McMiller stated that she left her credentials at home. After refusing to be handcuffed, McMiller struck an officer in the face.

McMiller has been sent to Wake County Jail and charged with assault on a government official, resisting arrest and impersonating law enforcement. It is unclear if she has a lawyer.

Authorities have not said why McMiller was charged more than three months after the incident.
