SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man who was fatally run over by a car while he was lying on a Scottsdale street may have suffered a seizure.

Scottsdale police on Wednesday identified the dead man as 48-year-old Louis Martinez.

They say Martinez had a known medical condition that would make him lay down immediately.

Police have determined that he must have suffered a seizure that caused him to end up lying down on Thomas Road around 3 a.m. Monday.

They say a SUV ran over the man in the roadway and he was dragged several hundred feet before the vehicle came to a stop.

Police say the male driver and female passenger in the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators after the fatal accident.
