COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - Red Lobster officials say they’re hiring security at a Georgia restaurant after a Mother’s Day brawl that led to several arrests.

Spokeswoman for the Florida-based restaurant chain Erica Ettori said in an emailed statement Wednesday that security is being hired for the location out of an abundance of caution.

Columbus police have said a group of men who attacked another man may have assaulted him because they believed he was involved in a fatal shooting in 2014. The victim was holding a 14-month-old baby at the time of the attack.

Four men in their early 20s were charged with battery and reckless conduct, among other things.

Ettori says guest and staff safety is the company’s top priority and the behavior that led to the attack is unacceptable.
