STRATTON, Vt. (AP) - Vermont ski resort officials say an $8.5 million expansion project at the Stratton Mountain Resort will enhance their base lodge.
The Bennington Banner reports (https://bit.ly/1F6D7it ) the expansion will nearly double the amount of seats. A floor will also be added to the two upper wings of the building.
Resort Marketing Director Myra Foster says revisions to the ground floor’s design will see a new food preparation area.
The base lodge opened in 1961 and its design was inspired by a wooden structure that Stratton founder Frank Snyder discovered while in Alpach, Austria.
Foster says the project is expected to be completed before winter returns.
