UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) - The Connecticut Sun has traded the rights to forward Asjha Jones to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for a second round pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft.

The 34-year-old former UConn star has not played the last two seasons while nursing injuries.

Chris Sienko, the Sun’s general manager, said Wednesday that Jones did not want to return to Connecticut and the trade with Minnesota was “the best available deal, especially as we continue to add and develop young talent.”

The 6-foot-2 forward has averaged 11.5 points and five rebounds a game during her 11-year WNBA career.

Her last game with the Sun was the third game of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals, when she had 10 points in an 87-71 loss to the Indiana Fever.
