SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Springfield police have made a quick arrest in the city’s tenth homicide of the year.
Police responded to a home directly across the street from Our Lady of the Rosary Parish on Franklin Street just after 7 p.m. Tuesday where they found a 25-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds on the first-floor landing. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her name was not immediately made public.
Officers quickly arrested 27-year-old Van Dorsey Jr. and charged him with murder. Police are calling the death a case of domestic violence.
Dorsey is expected to be arraigned Wednesday. It could not immediately be determined if he had retained a lawyer.
