FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - An Aug. 4 trial is set for three people who refused to end a protest at the University of Mary Washington.

Noah Goodwin, Adam Wander and Yanina Angelini are each charged with misdemeanor trespassing.

The Free Lance-Star (https://bit.ly/1FjY6BJ ) reports that the defendants were among a group of protesters who held a 21-day sit-in in a hallway at George Washington Hall. The sit-in was held to protest the university’s investments in fossil fuels.

The school notified the protesters on April 15 that they would be considered trespassers if they didn’t leave. The newspaper says Goodwin, Wander and Angelini remained in the hallway while the other protesters left. University police then arrested the trio.

The trial will be held in Fredericksburg General District Court.
