CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A bid dispute between two companies is affecting the progress of the West Virginia lottery headquarters project.

The Charleston Gazette (https://bit.ly/1QIcbL9 ) reports MCS Construction and Wiseman Construction are in the running for the $7.6 million renovation of the headquarters.

Earlier this year, lottery officials selected MCS, but rescinded the contract when Wiseman representatives said MCS failed to include references in its bid for the project. The Lottery then awarded the project to Wiseman on March 24.

MCS filed a lawsuit in Kanawha Circuit Court in late April against the Lottery Commission and State Purchasing Division to block the decision. Kanawha Circuit judge Jennifer Bailey directed a lawyer of MCS last week to draw up a proposed order awarding the renovation contract to MCS.

Bailey has not made a final decision.
