GATES MILLS, Ohio (AP) - Police say one teenager died and at least two more were injured after a vehicle veered off a road and hit a tree in a village east of Cleveland.

Authorities say four 18-year-olds were in the vehicle when it crashed Thursday afternoon in Gates Mills.

The cause is under investigation. No other vehicles were involved.

A statement from village police says three teens were taken to a hospital, and one was pronounced dead there.

Police didn’t identify the teenagers or provide updates about the conditions of those who were injured.

Local media reported the teens attend Hawken Upper School in Gates Mills.
