WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Winston-Salem police say a 14-year-old boy who was found shot and wounded at an apartment complex has died.

The Winston-Salem Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1K8LcYu) officers responded to reports of a shooting at a complex near the entrance to Forsyth Technical Community College. When they arrived, the officers found the teenager unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Two of the boy’s family members were inside the apartment when officers arrived, and one person was present when the shooting occurred.

No criminal charges have been filed, and police Lt. Steve Tollie said that investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting was self-inflicted, an accident or committed by someone else.
