DETROIT (AP) - Fireworks are planned next month as part of an annual celebration along the Detroit River.
Organizers say the Ford Fireworks are scheduled for June 22 at 10:06 p.m. EDT. The event hosted by The Parade Co. attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators along the water in Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Ford Motor Co. has served as the event’s title sponsor since 2013.
Dearborn-based Ford also will host “Focus on Freedom” at the fireworks for the second year. Working with the Yankee Air Museum, the event honors more than 250 active and retired military veterans and their families with a reception and up-close view of the fireworks.
