HERNDON, Pa. (AP) - A school district in central Pennsylvania is agreeing to pay most of an unpaid bill stemming from damage to a wastewater treatment plant.
The Sunbury Daily Item reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1A3yl6v) Line Mountain School District board members approved paying $86,000 to a wastewater treatment plant.
The payment will likely end the sewage authority’s lawsuit against the district over cleanup from when a broken pressure gauge at an elementary school dumped more than 1,200 gallons of oil into the treatment plant.
District officials say they aren’t admitting fault or liability.
The agreement requires approval by the Lower Mahanoy Township Municipal Authority, which could occur next week.
