PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A former environmental inspector for Clackamas County has been sentenced to a year in prison for defrauding the county and the Oregon Department of Human Services.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1FlEOMp ) that Aaron Ae Chaynam, also known as Sithuk Ae Chatanam, was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to identity theft, filing a false claim for a health care payment and official misconduct.

Prosecutors say Chaynam, who worked as a home health-care aide for the state and an inspector for Multnomah County in addition to his environmental inspector job, billed Clackamas County for hours he did not work. He reported working more than 24 hours a day.

He paid $3,000 in restitution to Clackamas County and $4,000 to the Department of Human Services.
