LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - University of Central Arkansas President Tom Courtway has moved out of the president’s home and into a private residence.

He and his wife moved earlier this month to a home in Conway that Courtway said offers them more privacy. The couple had lived in the president’s home since March 2012.

The university-owned home was a sore point for a former president of the school, who resigned under pressure over a house-renovation deal that had been presented to school trustees as a gift.

Allen Meadors resigned in 2011 after trustees learned that a food vendor’s offer of $700,000 to renovate the president’s house was contingent on the renewal of the company’s contract.

A university spokeswoman tells the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1EIdYZd ) that the house’s condition wasn’t a problem for the Courtways.
