TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the body of a border crosser has been recovered in the desert about 30 miles east of Tucson.
The DPS Tucson Operational Communications received a report of a suspected immigrant who had suffered a heart attack on Monday night.
The person reporting the situation says she was the sister of the victim.
She told DPS she received a phone call from a number she didn’t recognize telling her that her brother was dead and gave her information on where the body was located.
Highway Patrol officers and U.S. Border Patrol agents were unable to locate the body.
The search resumed Tuesday morning. Authorities were able to locate and recover the body of the man, whose name, age and nationality hasn’t been released yet.
