JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Ben Koyack, a seventh-round draft pick from Notre Dame, has signed his rookie contract.
Koyack is the fourth of the team’s eight draft picks to sign rookie deals, following first-rounder Dante Fowler Jr., fellow seventh-rounder Neal Sterling and fourth-rounder James Sample.
Koyack played in 50 games at Notre Dame, finishing his career with 44 catches for 532 yards and five touchdowns. He started all 13 games as a senior, totaling 30 receptions for 317 yards and two touchdowns.
Koyack was the sixth tight end drafted by the Jaguars and the first since 2009.
He will compete for a backup spot with the Jaguars, who have high-priced free agent Julius Thomas and veteran Marcedes Lewis entrenched on the roster.
