HONOLULU (AP) - A homeless man is charged with sexually assaulting two women in downtown Honolulu.

The Honolulu prosecutor’s office says a grand jury indicted Reginald Johnson Tuesday.

The office says Johnson approached the women as they were walking, struck up a conversation and then asked for their phone number. When they refused and walked away, he allegedly grabbed them, kissed them and groped them.

The indictment alleges the 31-year-old assaulted one woman in January and the other in April. Both incidents allegedly took place at about 8 a.m. near Fort Street Mall.

Prosecuting Attorney Keith Kaneshiro notes the alleged assaults happened along busy downtown streets in broad daylight.

Johnson is being held on $11,000 bail and couldn’t be reached for comment in custody. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
