SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that killed a motorcyclist who was fleeing from a sheriff’s deputy near Springfield.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says the chase began early Wednesday when a deputy tried to stop 45-year-old Allen Grisham for traffic violations in Springfield. Authorities say Grisham fled on his motorcycle, which crashed into a tractor-trailer truck just outside Springfield city limits.
The Springfield News-Leader reports (https://sgfnow.co/1QLSaUe ) only one deputy was involved in the chase, which lasted about two miles before the crash.
The name of the deputy was not released.
