OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a man with burned hands who reported a fire in downtown Oskaloosa has been charged with arson.
Des Moines police say officers took 23-year-old Danny Logan into custody on Wednesday, and he was returned to Oskaloosa. Online jail records say Logan remained in Mahaska County Jail on Thursday. Court records don’t list the name of a lawyer who could be contacted to comment on Logan’s behalf.
Officers say Logan entered the city police station to report the fire around 2 a.m. Monday. Firefighters contained the blaze at the sporting goods store to one floor of the building, but nearby businesses were damaged by smoke and water.
