ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is scheduled to announce a measure to transfer major economic development functions to a private-sector-led entity.

Leggett is scheduled to be joined by county business leaders on Thursday in Rockville to make the announcement.

The county executive also is scheduled to announce his appointments to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service and the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.

Leggett also plans to name his appointment to be director to the newly formed County Department of Procurement. His appointment of a Development Ombudsman in the Office of the County Executive also will be named to help with the commercial and residential development approval process.
