MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota audiences will be able to listen to the Minnesota Orchestra’s two concerts in Cuba this week.

Classical Minnesota Public Radio will broadcast the orchestra’s concerts live statewide from Havana’s Teatro Nacional on Friday and Saturday nights.

Each broadcast will open with a half-hour of pre-concert interviews, music and stories, followed by the concerts at 7:30 p.m.

In the Twin Cities, Classical MPR can be heard on KSJN 99.5 FM. The broadcasts also will be distributed nationwide through MPR’s national distribution arm, American Public Media.

The orchestra, led by conductor Osmo Vanska, is the first from the U.S. to perform in Cuba since President Barack Obama announced plans in December to restore full diplomatic relations with the island nation after a half-century
