WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A Wilmington woman has been sentenced to between 10 and 13 years in prison after pleading guilty in the hit-and-run death of a moped rider.

Area media outlets report that 39-year-old Susan Diana Parrish-Tumidaj pleaded guilty Wednesday to second degree murder. Authorities say she struck and killed 59-year-old Albert Cox who was riding his moped in Wilmington on Dec. 30.

Parrish-Tumidaj was also charged with DWI, felony hit-and-run, felony death by motor vehicle and driving with a revoked license. In return for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped those charges.

At the time of the wreck, Parrish-Tumidaj was out on bail after another arrest for DWI last October.
