NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven police say they’ve arrested a man in the killing of a convenience store clerk last month, and two other suspects in the shooting are already in custody for unrelated crimes.

Authorities obtained warrants Thursday charging the three men with murder and robbery in the killing of 39-year-old Sanja Patel on April 6.

Twenty-two-year-old Dwayne Sayles was arrested Thursday. Authorities also will be serving warrants on 22-year-old Leighton Vanderberg and 24-year-old Jamal Sumler, who are both jailed on other charges. All three men are from New Haven.

Vanderberg also is charged with killing a grocery store owner in Bridgeport. Sumler is charged with using a motor vehicle without permission in West Haven. Messages were left for the two men’s public defenders.

It’s not clear if Sayles has a lawyer.
