PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities in Passaic County say a local man has been arrested and charged with killing his wife in Pennsylvania more than two years ago.

County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced the arrest of 59-year-old Clifton resident Steven Dews.

Dews was arrested in Little Falls on Thursday after county detectives and members of the Pennsylvania state police searched several locations in Passaic County.

A warrant charges Dews with the murder of Gail Dews on March 11, 2013 in Shohola Township in northeastern Pennsylvania. Authorities say the 56-year-old’s body was found at the base of a waterfall near Route 6.

Dews was charged in New Jersey with being a fugitive from justice. Pennsylvania authorities are expected to file a request for extradition.
