BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota officials are meeting to map out a timeline for the planning and construction of a new governor’s residence.

State facilities management director John Boyle tells the Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1JIyQTB ) that he would like to see the house completed by Thanksgiving 2017. To meet that deadline, construction would have to begin in spring 2016.

Lawmakers last month approved the project, which will use $4 million of state funds and $1 million from private donations. Construction would not begin until donors pledge at least $500,000.

The Capitol Grounds Planning Commission will discuss the project at its Thursday meeting.
