NEW YORK (AP) - A Queens man convicted of murder for bludgeoning a love rival will spend 36 years to life behind bars.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown says Ronald Giddens of Far Rockaway was sentenced Wednesday.

Giddens was convicted of killing 47-year-old Tony Walker in December 2013.

They had argued over a woman who lived in Walker’s building.

Giddens was still wearing bloodstained sweatpants and sneakers when he was arrested the day after the crime.
