WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in Oconee County are pausing to honor retired law enforcement officers living in the area.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a luncheon on Thursday as part of Law Enforcement Officers Appreciation Week.
Organizers say any retired local, state, tribal or federal law enforcement officers who currently live in Oconee County are welcome to attend the event on the second floor of the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.
There is also a blood drive going on that day to honor an Oconee County deputy who died in 2010.
