NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police are asking for help identifying a man with crutches who knocked over two machines in a Treme (truh-MAY) apartment complex laundromat to get change.

Officer Garry Flot says the man is described as black, with a distinct limp. Police released a photo from a surveillance camera.

Flot says the theft occurred about 5:45 p.m. May 5 in the Soap-N-Suds Laundromat in the St. Ann Apartments on St. Ann Street.

Flot says that after getting change from the overturned machines, the man rode away on a bicycle which had crutches on it.

He says Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,250 after an arrest and an equal amount after indictment of a suspect. Tips can be anonymous.
