GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A fire on a major power pole in Great Falls has led to a power outage at about 50 businesses in the northern part of the city.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/1JhExtB ) Wal-Mart employees were ushering customers out of the store late Thursday morning because NorthWestern Energy wanted to shut off the power in the Smelter Avenue and Lower Riverview areas.

NorthWestern spokesman Butch Larcombe says about 50 businesses were without power. He said it could be several hours before service could be restored.
