PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A woman has been sentenced to six years of probation for embezzling more than $34,000 from a Fort Pierre economic development group.
KCCR-AM reports 58-year-old Joni Boub of Pierre was sentenced on Tuesday in Stanley County, after pleading guilty to embezzlement and forgery.
Boub was charged in January for writing more than 40 forged checks while she worked as the office manager of the Fort Pierre Development Corp.
Boub was ordered to pay court costs and restitution to the development group.
Boub must also provide 100 hours of community service and undergo mental health treatment.
