ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska schools continue to be at the receiving end of a string of phone threats that have disrupted classrooms since late April but have not found to be credible.
The Juneau Empire reports Mendenhall River Community School and Juneau-Douglas High School received calls Wednesday. The calls prompted school officials to implement certain security procedures involving keeping staff and students in classrooms.
Another Juneau elementary school received a call Monday.
Anchorage television station KTUU reports Talkeetna Elementary School also received a call Wednesday. In the Kenai area, calls were received at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School and Skyview Middle School.
Officials say the calls follow a pattern similar to those made to other schools in the state since April 27. The calls are automated or recorded messages.
Authorities are investigating the calls.
