CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming’s next president will come from a pool of publicly identified finalists who will visit campus and possibly other places around the state.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/bpzW1Q ) university trustees voted for the open process Thursday after three days of meetings, during which members of the presidential planning committee presented input gathered from members of campus and the community over the last several weeks.

Trustees formed the search committee after president Dick McGinity announced that he would resign at the end of his contract in June 2016.

The search for the president who preceded McGinity was criticized for being largely closed.
