LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a motorist accused of plowing into three workers and a water district construction truck at a work zone near downtown Las Vegas was trying to elude patrol officers, and will face felony driving under the influence charges.

Las Vegas police say 40-year-old Jeanne Anguiano and two workers - identified as 25-year-old Louis Mercado and 29-year-old Joel Murphy - were hospitalized in serious condition.

Police say a 41-year-old co-worker was struck but escaped serious injury in the 3:40 a.m. Thursday crash at Eastern Avenue and Charleston Boulevard.

Police say Anguiano was driving a 2002 Honda Civic that failed to stop for a patrol officer a short distance away.

Police say she continued south on Eastern Avenue before swerving into northbound lanes at Fremont Street and hitting the men.
