WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A woman pleaded guilty to a car crash which left one person dead and another seriously injured.
A news release says 22-year-old Clarissa Jo Woodward got a sentence of 68 to 102 months Wednesday from a New Hanover County judge. The incident occurred in December, when Woodward crashed into the vehicle of Monica and Randell Foxe.
The couple was brought to New Hanover Regional Hospital. Randall Foxe died from his injuries while Monica Foxe was treated for severe injuries to her ribs and neck.
Officers say Woodward was speeding and had a blood-alcohol level of .25, more than three times the state legal limit.
