MIAMI (AP) - Two inmates from Miami-Dade County’s Boot Camp program are behind bars again after walking away from separate work details.

Corrections spokeswoman Janelle Hall says authorities aren’t sure if their escapes were a coordinated effort. She says 20-year-old James Dukes and 20-year-old Manuel Jesus Guzman were cutting grass in separate locations when they walked away just before noon on Thursday.

The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1FhZClZ ) reports both men were captured within hours.

Officials say the boot camp program has been hailed as one of the strongest rehabilitation methods used in the southeastern United States.

Dukes was serving time for burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief. Guzman was convicted of carjacking and robbery.
