CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) - Cullman County officials say some personal purchases using county credit cards have been repaid as a new state audit detailing the problems is released.

The Cullman Times (https://bit.ly/1Jk9yNx ) reports that the audit released this week found that purchases using the county cards were not itemized. The newspaper says that state law requires public money be spent for a public purpose.

It’s not clear how much was repaid.

The audit was conducted by the Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Account. It covered spending from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013.
