TOBYHANNA, Pa. (AP) - A caretaker in northeastern Pennsylvania has been charged with killing her 92-year-old ward.
Police charged 56-year-old Judith Marc of Tobyanna with homicide in the Dec. 27 death of William Collins.
Police found Collins dead in his wheelchair in Marc’s home. They say he suffered a broken neck and head trauma.
Marc declined comment as she was led into her arraignment Thursday.
Court documents say Marc was the lone beneficiary of William Collins’ estate. Authorities say she had tried taking out a $500,000 life insurance policy on Collins a few months before his death.
Marc was jailed without bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27.
