ORANGE, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey police director has been suspended with pay as officials investigate claims that he sexually harassed a female lieutenant.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/1A5IWOa ) Hakim Sims was suspended by Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren on Wednesday, months after the probe began.

The lieutenant filed a claim alleging sexual harassment against Sims. She says he told her she “reminded him of a porn star.”

She also filed a lawsuit in January saying the city failed to investigate the allegations.

Sims is pursuing a $2.5 million claim of his own against the lieutenant and the city. He says the harassment allegations are false and politically motivated.

Sims’ attorney didn’t respond to NJ.com’s request for comment.
