SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a fired Sevier County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been indicted on accusations of having sex on the job with a woman he met earlier the same day while answering a 911 call.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1A47aZs ) reports that a Sevier County grand jury returned an indictment Tuesday charging 40-year-old Wallace Paul Burchfield, of Sevierville, with one count of official misconduct. Authorities say Burchfield responded to a 911 call made by a woman Jan. 17.

According to a press release, the two did not know each other, but Burchfield went to her home several times that day and had sex with her. While there, he ignored calls for service. Burchfield subsequently was fired.

He turned himself in after he was indicted and was released on a $5,000 bond.
