ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A floatplane has taken a nose dive in an Anchorage lake, leaving two people sitting inside the partially submerged aircraft.
The Anchorage Fire Department sent 15 rescue units to the scene near Campbell Lake on Friday. They say boaters on two privately owned watercraft rescued the two uninjured passengers from the blue and white plane before they arrived.
Firefighters say there were strong, gusty winds in the area. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
