PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) - Fort Lee is experiencing a drop in crime.

The Army says there’s been a 15 percent decrease in crime rates from the 2013 fiscal year to this year.

Since 2007, the Army says there’s been a 75 percent drop in assault and battery rates, a 13 percent drop in violent sex crimes and a 62 percent decrease in alcohol-related crimes.

Army officials attribute the decline in crime trends to Army programs that help identify risk.
