HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police say they were tipped off to a large drug deal and seized nearly 10 pounds of powder and crack cocaine, five pounds of marijuana and nearly $57,000 in cash.

Police announced on Friday that they also arrested two men, found 10 grams of pure heroin and seized two sport utility vehicles during the bust on Thursday off New Britain Avenue.

Authorities arrested 31-year-old Eduardo Zayes of Hartford and 34-year-old Michael Kelley of Plainville on drug charges.

Police say they initially found Kelley in possession of nearly three-quarters of a pound of crack cocaine, then found large amounts of drugs at several stash houses in the greater Hartford area.

It’s not clear what Zayes and Kelley’s responses to the allegations are. It’s unknown if they are represented by attorneys.
