KEWANEE, Ill. (AP) - A 23-year-old northern Illinois man is accused of burglarizing eight different churches on multiple occasions and one elementary school over a four-month period.

Jeremy Hotchkiss of Kewanee was charged Thursday with 13 burglaries in Henry County Circuit Court. Judge Terry Patton ordered a $500,000 bond for Hotchkiss.

The (Moline) Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1bVbJd0 ) reports Hotchkiss is accused of committing 12 of the burglaries at Kewanee churches and the other burglary at Central School in Kewanee.

It wasn’t immediately known which public defender has been appointed to the case.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 26.
