ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A cook at a fast-food restaurant in Brooklyn Park has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing the manager during a robbery.

Twenty-six-year-old year old Moises Gomez-Castillo pleaded guilty on Friday to first-degree murder in the death of 47-year-old Luzviminda Monreal-Benny of Laurel. His plea agreement calls for him to be sentenced to life in prison on July 13.

Monreal-Benny was found dead of multiple stab wounds on Aug. 31 in Popeye’s on Ritchie Highway, where she worked for nearly 15 years.

Prosecutors say Gomez-Castillo, who was also working at the restaurant that day, disabled surveillance cameras and stabbed Monreal-Benny during a robbery.
