PROVO, Utah (AP) - A man convicted of killing another for an ounce of methamphetamine has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1A6cknF ) that Judge Derek Pullan sentenced Danny Logue Thursday.

Logue was found guilty three months ago in the 2011 death of Andy Purcell. He was on parole when he was involved in Purcell’s death and has been in prison ever since.

Police reports state that Yuri Lara paid Logue and Darrell Morris in methamphetamine to beat Purcell over a drug dispute.

Lara pleaded guilty to manslaughter in October 2012. Morris pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2014 as part of a plea deal and earned a 15-year sentence.

Logue may file an appeal to his sentence within the next 30 days.
