RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - An early 19th century carriage made in Staunton is going on a wild ride in Richmond.

Workers at the Virginia Historical Society are moving the high-style carriage Friday from one side of the building to the other. They’ll use an elevator, truck and crane during the moving job.

The carriage’s final destination is a special exhibit space in the society’s second floor.

The Virginia Historical Society is a privately funded nonprofit organization. It collects, preserves, and interprets Virginia’s history.
